5 steps for anyone who wants to digitalise their business but doesn't know how
If you haven't already started your digital journey, now really is the time. Are you and your colleagues considering digitalising your business but unsure how to get from vision to reality? We know how.
1. Find your starting position
Define where you stand in the digital transformation. Have you already begun introducing digital processes, or is this entirely new territory? Review your current processes and identify where to start — a good process to begin with is one involving a lot of paperwork, such as analogue delivery notes or timesheets.
2. Choose your path
Create your digital vision. Go through the benefits digitalisation can bring and use them as a target picture along the way. What do you want to get out of the transformation? What goals and requirements apply to you?
3. Put the right person in the right place
Having the right person in the right place is crucial. Make sure management has a positive attitude and prepares all employees. Information must be clear, understandable and useful.
4. Start the work
Now you've found your starting position and identified where change should happen. Time to get going. Keep working on your processes and identify new ones that should be digitalised — digitalisation is like a toolbox: learn to use the tools and you'll reap major benefits.
5. Follow up
To evaluate the transformation, follow-up is essential. Take a step back, reflect on what employees are saying and need, measure results and review what needs to change. Make follow-up part of the daily work.
